Where Oliver Fits – Activity #6: "Where You Fit"
Activity #6: “Where You Fit”
The purpose of this activity is to have the students create their own puzzle that represents a dream or idea of something they would like to do.
- 9×12 Manila tag
- Construction paper for mounting students’ paintings
- Paint and paint brushes
- Black felt pens
- Have enough of the above materials for each student.
Step by Step:
Step One: Have students think back to the start of the Book Study when they thought of an idea of something they would like to do, be a part of, goals/dreams.
Step Two: On the 9×12 paper, the students will paint a picture to represent their individual idea.
Step Three: Once the painting is dry, the student will use the black felt to draw puzzle pieces. Then they will cut one piece of the puzzle out and add a face to it.
Step Four: Have them mount the painting onto the piece of background construction paper and then glue only the centre of the face piece back into place so it is slightly sticking out from the rest of the painting.
Students complete an activity that provides them with a puzzle representation of where THEY fit.
