What is Fairness?

Kindergarten Curriculum

Fairness means avoiding prejudice, seeking justice, and playing by the rules. It means making sure that everyone gets a fair share. Learning to share and cooperate with others is a big part of becoming a fair person. The Golden Rule, “Treat others as you wish to be treated,” is all about being fair.

  • Treat others as individuals, rather than as part of a group
  • Share evenly with your family and friends
  • Play by the rules and make sure the same rules apply to everyone
  • Consider other people’s needs
  • When you disagree, do it peacefully and respectfully
  • Work cooperatively to keep a safe, happy environment
  • Ask for help when you need it.
